All Pinoys unite as we celebrate music, unity, and freedom
through reggae! KIDLAT PINOY.com and MAGDARAGAT present: "ROOTS,
SKA, REGGAE" [May 19, 8pm], a concert for peace serving Rasta music
the Filipino way! Manila reggae bands join forces with Cavite's soul
rebels to bring one love and positive vibrations to all. The event
kicks off with Cavite's finest… LAKBAY LAHI, UGONG, and Manila's
ethnic group KALUMAD. These bands will take us back to our `Roots'
as they fuse band arrangement with tribal instruments and ethnic
dances. Then the pace gets a bit faster with `Ska'! Upbeat horns
highlight the tight Rasta rhythms as provided by Manila's JEEPNEY
JOYRIDE. Featuring their originals layered with way out theatrics,
surely a ride you wouldn't want to miss! The gig goes on steady as
we groove to the night's high spot. Let Cavite's MARIWEJE and
Manila's HEMP REPUBLIC, and PEACE PIPE lively up jah celebration
with rock steady `Reggae'. Chant along to their songs of freedom and
dance the way dreadlocks do!
Food and drinks will be available at the resto-bars of
Magdaragat. You can also have your henna tattoos or pick up Rasta
items and accessories at the merchant booths. With tickets at P150,
you get high with heavy reggae vibe!
